Happy New Year- Belated
Here's my top 10 films of the year (in alphabetical order):
Batman Begins * * * * - Probably what has become the best comic-book film of recent times. Great acting and action sequences and a very well-written treatment of the Batman myths with alot of the psychological underpinnings of why someone would want to dress up as a bat and beat people up.
Brokeback Mountain * * * * * - What have you already heard about this film is pretty much true. Heart-breaking and romantic in its subtle acting, wonderful vistas and really cute sheep make this possibly Ang Lee's best film yet. Oh, and Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhal going all googly on each other's nice, too.
Cinderella Man * * * * - Surprisingly moving picture with a (not so surprising) star-turn by Russell Crowe and another great one by Paul Giamatti. This is what Beautiful Mind should have been.
Howl's Moving Castle * * * * *
King Kong (2005) * * * * ½
Millions * * * *
Pride & Prejudice * * * *
Serenity * * * * *
Sin City * * * *
Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit * * * * *
